Public engagement events
Our researchers take part in science festivals and visit schools, colleges and youth groups. We have activities and talks about wildlife population monitoring and how important quantitative skills are in biological/environmental sciences. Activities show ways of counting animals like rhinos, squirrels, whales, seals, butterflies, and others. These involve different survey methods (plot sampling, line-transect surveys, mark-recapture). We also have activities that explore how far whales’ calls travel in the ocean and ways to assess biodiversity. We can adapt our activities to fit the target age group.

We're planning more events, and will share them with you soon.
