Abstract

In this talk I will present examples of recent work, with a focus on spatial and spatio-temporal applications. A range of case-studies in marine and terrestrial ecology will aim to illustrate how harnessing the spatial dimension of the data more fully may not only enable making more effective use of data, but may also yield new insight about underlying processes. In particular, I will explore three complementary topics: 1) resource selection functions, integrating across multiple spatial scales; 2) combining heterogeneous sources of data; and 3) short-range forecast, as well as their potential developments.
