Date: 26 August 2018
Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Overview

The goal of this one-day workshop is to introduce participants to the R language and software for statistics, in the context of analysis of distance sampling data. It is aimed at people who will attend the Intermediate Distance Sampling workshop starting the next day, but who are not fully comfortable with R.

We will start with the basics of the R language, and the R Studio interface, and move to data manipulation and analysis of conventional distance sampling (CDS) and multiple covariate distance sampling (MCDS) data. Participants are expected to already be familiar with conventional distance sampling we will be teaching how to do the analyses in R, rather than methdological details. The majority of the day will be spent in practical sessions.

The workshop will start at 9am, at CREEM, and finish at 5pm. Tea and coffee, as well as a light lunch, will be provided.
