MSc in Statistical Ecology

The School of Mathematics and Statistics runs a one-year MSc and a PG Dip in Statistical Ecology.

The programmes offer:

  • A sound understanding of the foundations of modern methods in statistical ecology and the experience of applying them to real-world problems under the supervision of experts.
  • A summer research dissertation with an innovative and flexible format for the MSc that includes an optional placement with collaborators either in the UK or abroad. It can include producing a podcast, web page, poster, field report, training materials, short film or a written dissertation.
  • Qualifications to pursue a career as a scientist in government environment agencies, industry, consultancies, conservation organisations, or do a PhD.
