Abstract

The population level consequences of pollutant exposure in cetaceans is very difficult to determine directly and therefore requires a comprehensive risk assessment approach in order to estimate at what level of exposure individual impacts translate into detrimental effects on populations.  Here we describe and demonstrate an individual based model framework, with an associated web application, that can be used to simulate a variety of pollutant impacts and their effect on potential population growth.
