Bayesian species richness and occupancy models

Abstract

Species richness (defined as the amount of species in a particular area) in areas in the Karoo will be investigated using occupancy models. The aim of the project is to relate various biological covariates to species richness using camera trap data. In the talk I will discuss the theory as well as the practical problems related to this data set.
